About

I was born in Switzerland and come from a family of 13 brothers and sisters. We grew up in Beirut and Iran. Our lives was rich in happenings and experience, but the Lebanese civil war in 1975 brought that chapter to an end in a violent way. We ended dispersed. That experience left a taint on the way I have lived, accepting the unknown and the unexpected, knowing that life is rich in joyful moments, learning and love, but that it also brings hardships and difficult challenges.

Drawing has been my way of telling my journey with humor, joy and sensuality. My Art work goes from being a cartoonist to a painter and next to a film maker. The Stories of Love and Dreams are always at the center .

Each art form has it’s strength and expression. Personally, I feel that Cartoons are a medium that allows me to say things, that words and film can not imitate. The personal interpretation is direct, without the need of other mediums such as music, a camera, an actor , and so on. Just a pen and paper.

I decided to gather all my creative work on one website , where one can navigate from one universe to another.

The Bla Bla Series, is meant to be a personal illustrated diary where I investigate my life, in all it's aspects , personal, relational, political, existential, while trying to see the irony, the silliness, the absurdity, the meaningless, and the hypocrisy in all of it, without ever loosing the essential, “Love “ in all it’s forms.

The Giraffes in The High Life are another series where I study the world of privileges, with the ones who have and the ones who have not. Our history from the beginning of times have had privileged classes. The Blue Giraffes rule the world and keep the others under them. It’s eat or be eaten.

My Art work is a collection of my favorite paintings, drawings and sketches that I want to share with a wider audience.

Illustrations are what they are. Illustrations that I have done for diverse Art and Commercial projects through the years, like the paintings I did for the 1996 Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Norwegian Winter games in Lillehammer, or the Storyboards I executed for numerous Nordic Feature Films.
